Turmoil and Serenity in the Waters
Deborah Terenzio was born in New York City. Surrounded by architecture, art, music, theater, and dance. This mecca of culture serves as her background when she approaches her canvases. Deep emotion moved by the love of nature and its colors, textures and how they work together, are expressed through the usage of acrylics, cheese cloth, newspaper, Gesso, modeling paste and sand resin. Although she started out using pastels and moved to acrylics with paint brushes, she enjoys mostly working with the palette knife and mixed media to build her works on canvas. Presently, creating memory tree artwork using acrylic backgrounds on paper, hot glued antique buttons, or rocks, and framing each piece.
She received her BFA from The School of Visual Arts in NYC with a major in Advertising and Graphic Design. Deborah started showing her work to the public and hopes to build more of a following. She has sold privately and to retail. She is married and shares her life with her rescued dog. She splits her time between Connecticut and Vermont where she continues to build her work.

artist’s statement
Being an expressionistic artist, I create landscapes for admirers of nature. These pieces are developed using a variety of substrates to recreate an interpretation of texture and movement. These canvases and pieces of art evoke serenity amidst a bustling world.
